balogo.gifBritish Airways said today it would operate three flights a week to the Albanian capital Tirana, the first ever time the two countries have been directly linked.

The flights start from Monday with prices from £120 (€173.50) from London Gatwick to Tirana’s Mother Teresa Airport every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

“I am sure that the Tirana route will prove very successful for British Airways. The opening of the route by British Airways means the start of a great cooperation between industry and state institutions from both countries,” said Albion Idrizi, BA manager for Albania and Kosovo.
